The most important tasks include:

• supporting the employer in meetings with the fire protection authorities and fire brigade, the fire insurance providers, the employers' liability insurance association, and the industrial inspectorates etc.,
• advising on the equipping of work stations with fire extinguishing equipment and choice of extinguishing agents,
• training employees in handling fire extinguishers and employees with special duties in the event of a fire (fire protection assistants),
• offering advisory opinions on investment decisions that have an impact on the interests of fire safety on the site,
• regular fire safety inspections and evacuation exercises.
