International Centre for Sustainable Development

The Bonn-Rhine-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has founded an International Centre for Sustainable Development (Internationales Zentrum für nachhaltige Entwicklung - IZNE), which takes an interdisciplinary approach towards development-related issues of the future with respect to research, tuition and consulting. The subject areas include climate protection, energy and natural resources, security and environmental hazards, social security systems, commerce and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), technology, ICT and communication.

The Centre is also actively involved with the "Teaching for Development" initiative, which is aimed at designing study programmes for gifted students from developing and emerging countries within our University's subject portfolio. Our University already offers two relevant programmes in collaboration with the German radio station "Deutsche Welle" and Bonn University, namely NGO Management (MBA) and International Media Studies (M.A.). Over and above that, the Rheinbach Department of Business Administration runs a "2+2 degree course" in collaboration with Hunan University, China.
