Annick Vins, Computer Science (Diploma)
Annick Vins graduated from H-BRS in 2004 with a degree in computer science, specialising in media informatics. Since 2007, she has been working in marketing at the French games developer Ubisoft - where she feels right at home as a games freak among her peers. If she wasn't still an exotic woman in this industry...
Alexander Barth, Computer Science
Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science at H-BRS, followed by a doctorate and research in Silicon Valley. Today, visual computing specialist Alexander Barth develops tomorrow's technology in an international company.
Christian A. Mueller, Autonomous Systems
After completing his bachelor's degree in computer science, he specialised in robotics and won a prize for his master's thesis on the Autonomous Systems course. As a doctoral student in the robotics group at Jacobs University, he is now researching how robots can be taught to see ... even under water. During a visit to his old university, he spontaneously filled out our alumni questionnaire. Thank you very much!
Oliver Zilken, Computer Science
It's hard to imagine our lives without computers: shopping, socialising, gaming, everything is done digitally these days. Hardly anyone realises that people are working hard in the background to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Oliver Zilken, a Master's graduate from our university, is one of these people. With the help of modern working techniques such as Scrum, he leads his teams to success as a coach in order to develop appealing software.
Mathias Valdenegro, Autonomous Systems
A practice-orientated degree course in English and renowned professors in robotics were the factors that attracted Mathias Valdenegro to Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS). After completing his Master's degree in Autonomous Systems, the Chilean was drawn to Edinburgh, where he is now doing his doctorate in electrical engineering - and developing underwater robots.
Elisaveta Shpieva, Autonomous Systems
In her home country of Russia, her studies were too theoretical for her. At H-BRS, she was able to try out her knowledge on robots from the global market leader KUKA from the very first semester of the Master's degree programme in Autonomous Systems.
Abheek Bose, Autonomous Systems
Abheek Bose, a 2005 graduate, is now a successful robotics engineer in India. At H-BRS, he learnt all the important technical principles and developments in robotics. As co-founder of the Robo Cup team, he also gained valuable experience in team building and management.
Martin Jüngling, Business Information Systems
Martin Jüngling has been fascinated by computers since he was a child. After training as an IT specialist, he studied business information systems at H-BRS. As a test and quality manager for purchasing software in the retail sector, he has a special eye for whether something works well. He attests to the high quality of his studies.
Geovanny Giorgana, Autonomous Systems
Geovanny Giorgana is now a lecturer at the Universidad Anáhuac Mayab in Mérida. He came to Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg for the ‘Autonomous Systems’ robotics degree programme and completed his Master's degree in 2011. During his studies, Giorgana took part in many RoboCup competitions in Austria, Singapore and China. Being part of the b-it-bots team at H-BRS was a particularly important experience for him, which contributed to his personal and professional development.
Sasi Kiran Gade, Autonomous Systems
‘As a child, I dreamed of becoming an astronaut, gambler, actor, artist, lawyer, psychologist and, of course, God himself. Fortunately, I became an engineer and now I'm living my dream.’ Master's graduate Sasi Gade (Autonomous Systems 2010), whose quote comes from 2015, died in the summer of 2020 during the fight against Covid-19 in India. We mourn with his family and friends.
Ronny Hartanto, Autonomous Systems
He was a pioneer in his field. After completing his Bachelor's degree in Indonesia, he was the first graduate of the then still new Autonomous Systems degree programme. With the service robot Johnny, he led the H-BRS b-it bots RoboCup team to success in international competitions. Ronny Hartanto has been Professor of Computer Engineering since 2015.
Oliver Schwaneberg, Computer Science
The computer scientist has developed a smart infrared sensor that can prevent serious injuries when working with a circular saw. The sensor technology, which he played a key role in inventing, has since been patented by the university and the German Social Accident Insurance.
