On this page you will find a list of English language certificates accepted by H-BRS. Each section lists the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) level in English required for admission as well as the most common language certificates. Please note that this list is not exhaustive. If you have any other internationally recognized English language certificate, please get in contact with the Registrar’s Office in order to find out whether it can be accepted for admission.

Degree programmes Applied Biology (BSc), Biomedial Sciences (MSc), Controlling & Management (MSc), CSR & NGO Management (MBA), Innovation and Information Management (MSc), International Business (BSc), Marketing (MSc) and Sustainable Social Policy (BA)

Required CEFR level: B2

  • Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First
  • BEC Business English Certificates**: B2 Business Vantage

  • IELTS Academic / IELTS Online: ≥ 5.5

  • TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition*: ≥ 72

  • PTE Academic / PTE Academic Online: ≥ 59

Degree programme Autonomous Systems (MSc)

Required CEFR level: B2+

  • Cambridge English Qualifications: B2 First Grade: A or B

  • IELTS Academic / IELTS Online: ≥ 6.5

  • TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition*: ≥ 88

  • PTE Academic / PTE Academic Online: ≥ 71

Degree progammes International Media Studies (MA) and Social Protection (MSc)

Required CEFR level: C1

  • Cambridge English Qualifications: C1 Advanced
  • IELTS Academic / IELTS Online: ≥ 7.0

  • TOEFL iBT / TOEFL iBT Home Edition*: ≥ 95

  • PTE Academic / PTE Academic Online: ≥ 76
