The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was awarded the basic certification "Family-Friendly University Audit" on 26 March 2007.
The Family-Friendly University Audit is a strategic management instrument designed by the charitable Hertie Foundation (gemeinnützige Hertie-Stiftung GmbH) in co-operation with Trier University. It is aimed at combining the University's administrative interests with its students' and employees' family commitments.
The Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences was awarded the basic certification for providing the existing facilities to support students and employees alike. The range of facilities offered will be further developed and supplemented in the next three years. The re-audit is scheduled to take place in 2010.
The facilities in question include the following:
- Childcare facilities
- Study rooms for parents with children
- HELP (a contact point for employees and students with children and/or family members in need of care)
