PhD Project Exhibition 2014
Prof. Dr. Hartmut Ihne and Prof. Dr. Rainer Herpers officially opened this year's "PhD Project Exhibition" on 29 September during the opening of the academic year in Rheinbach in the presence of Prof. Dr. Wilfried Saxler, President of Rheinische Fachhochschule Köln. At the exhibition, organised every two years by the Graduate Institute, doctoral students of the university present their research projects to members of the university and guests.
The exhibition shows a broad variety of research activities at PhD level. The projects include work in the following areas:
• Mathematics and physical modelling
• Visual Computing
• Autonomous systems
• Stem cell research
• Deduction technology
• Biobased polymers
• Cement and cement-based modelling
• Pharmaceutical chemistry
• Non-working time research
• Stress recovery
• Water management.
After the opening of the exhibition, posters remain in the entrance hall in Rheinbach for a week. The exhibition then will be presented on Sankt Augustin campus for another week, starting on 10 October, 15:00 with a "Get Together" of PhD students and supervisors in Sankt Augustin in the "Hochschulstraße" (university "road" in the main building).
All members of the university are welcome to join and inform themselves about the presented projects.
