Time

14:00 - 15:00

Location

Campus Sankt Augustin, Hörsaal 8

As recently appointed professor of computer science, in particular Robot Vision and Machine Learning, at the H-BRS, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Houben will explain the challenges of robust environment perception in modern robotics research in his inaugural lecture "Three Levels of Informed Robot Vision".

Robotics is an ideal field for applied machine learning research, as the scenarios are highly controllable and there is a lot of expert knowledge, but at the same time little experimental data available. How data-driven machine learning can still be applied here is the topic of the talk.

We are pleased to welcome Prof. Dr.-Ing. Houben, an expert, as a colleague in the Department of Computer Science and wish him every success in his new area of responsibility.
