Both b-it-bots teams were celebrated on 9 May 2019 with a small "welcome home party" in the Department of Computer Science. President Prof. Dr Hartmut Ihne congratulated the @work-team for their championship title in the RoboCup german Open in Magdeburg and the @work-team for coming in first in the standrad platform subdivision of the @work competition. He also took the opportunity to have a look at the robots.
In addition to Dean Prof. Dr Wolfgang Heiden and Vice Dean Prof. Paul G. Plöger, Prof. Gerhard Kraetzschmar also attended the ceremony via live transmission. The team leaders distributed the winning certificates to the successful team members. This also includes H. Schnor, who is the youngest member of b-it-bots @home as a student in the bachelor's program. Both b-it-bots teams are looking forward to new students who would like to get involved.
Prof. Plöger stressed the excellent teamwork and thanked the team leaders @work: Deebul Nair and Abishek Padalkar as well as the team @home Argentina Ortega Sáinz and Patrick Nagel for their good work. As a surprise he presented a voucher for hoodies for the whole team in his function as director of the b-it institute.
