Programme "Get Balkanized"

Call for applications for Erasmus+ scholarships to support internships in the programme "Get Balkanized" in the countries Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia for the summer semester 2024.

Target group

Applications are open to regularly enrolled students of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, University of Applied Sciences who are completing a course of study leading to a recognised degree. For international students: Funding for internships in their respective home country is not possible.

 

Funding period, application deadline and internships

Funding is available for internships starting in the summer semester 2024. The internal application deadline for an Erasmus+ funded internship is 25.10.2023. You can indicate two internship choices in your application.

 

Funding

Both compulsory internships/practical placements and optional internships/practical placements can be funded. However, they must be part of the course of study. Internships/practical placements must last at least 60 days in order to be eligible. According to the contract rules, funding is provided on a per diem basis and fixed funding rates apply. One month corresponds to 30 days.

For the summer semester 2023, scholarships can be awarded for internships/practical placements in Albania and Kosovo with an amount of 700 euros per month for a maximum of 5 months. In addition to the monthly scholarship, each student will receive a travel allowance of 275 euros. A different Erasmus+ funding scheme applies to Serbia, which is why the monthly funding is slightly lower.

Students with a chronic illness, a disability and students with so-called "fewer opportunities”, students who have to work to finance their studies or students who are the first in their family to attend university, can apply for an additional monthly supplement of 250 euros. In addition, there is the possibility for all students to receive a subsidy of 50, - Euro, if they opt to travel sustainably, e.g., by train.

The Erasmus+ grant is tied to a successful application for one of the advertised internships.

Combined funding with public funds from other programmes is not possible. A combination with “Auslands-BAföG” (federal student funding) is possible.

  • curriculum vitae
  • current, complete transcript of record with average grade
  • If available, proof of English language, or national language

You have to apply internally to the department and must not send application documents directly to the internship organizations!

 

Application place and deadline

The complete application documents must be sent by e-mail in one pdf document to outgoing@h-brs.de. The application deadline is 25.10.2023.

 

Selection procedure

After the application deadline, applications will be assessed internally, first for form and then for content. If necessary, selection interviews will be held. Selected students will then receive further information on the application process to the internship provider and on the Erasmus+ funding.

The internships are awarded as part of the "Get Balkanized" programme, which also includes participation in a preparatory seminar in the winter semester 2023/24.
