Our showroom for visual computing technologies

Virtual reality and augmented reality are entering industrial practice - visualization is increasingly playing an important role for innovations in medium-sized companies. The possible applications range from Big Data analysis using high-resolution display systems to simulation and the monitoring of data streams.
Enter showroom

As part of the Campus to World project, the "Visualization" showroom was set up at the Sankt Augustin site, which is intended to provide information and advice to companies on the one hand and to serve as a forum for companies to exchange information with each other on the other. In workshops and other interaction formats, medium-sized companies can inform themselves about the latest systems and trends in research and development in the field of visual computing and discuss opportunities for funding innovative projects in cooperation with the university.

Transfer

In the showroom, companies are informed in workshops and other interaction formats about the latest systems as well as research and development trends in the field of visual computing and are advised about possibilities for funding innovative projects. In addition, the showroom will serve as a forum for exchange among companies.

Innovation

Future innovations by SMEs are thus supported through targeted information transfer and joint projects, particularly with regard to new production technologies and processes. The focus here is on adapting to the requirements of industry and the associated leaps in innovation.

LED-Wall

The five square meter LED wall consists of more than 3.2 million individually controllable LEDs.

Multi-Touch-Wall

A highlight of the showroom is a multi-touch wall. It consists of six 55-inch displays. The entire multi-touch wall has infrared tracking that detects up to 32 touch points simultaneously, enabling several people to work on the wall at the same time.

VR and Tracking

The entire showroom is covered by a tracking system used in combination with various head mounted displays (HMD). Among other things, these tracking solutions enable VR applications with roomscale (one physical step corresponds to one step in the virtual world).

Ideation

In the meeting or presentation corner, meetings in smaller circles or presentations on collaborative projects can take place in a comfortable atmosphere, supported by an interactive Witheboard.
