Information and communication technologies (ICT) have become part of our everyday life and it is almost impossible to imagine life without them. Reason for that is the increasing digitalization of our world. Especially in our economic sector ICTs are one of the most driving factors for innovation and therefore strongly responsible forthe competitiveness of many companies. But ICTs not only influence our lives within economy, they also shape our society e.g. in authorities.
Nowadays, information technology not only concerns IT security experts but also everyone, for even critical infrastructures are controlled via ICT. Consequently, increasing digitilization also bears a high risk for the society, since by no means all application areas are sufficiently protected against cybercrime. The threat potential of cyber-attacks is rising parallel to increasing digitalization. Therefore, IT security is one of the key technologies for a properly working modern society.
In order to make our society safer, experts and management need to receive an adequate quality of further training.
The Learning Lab for Cybersecurity (LLCS) at the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is one of the key institutions for advanced training of IT-Security skills.
At the LLCS of the H-BRS experts belonging to the “Fraunhofer Institut für Kommunikation, Informationsverarbeitung und Ergonomie (FKIE)” co-operate with institutions and laboratories of the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg imparting the latest insights for analysis and defense against cyber-attacks.
Therefore, the LLCS is named “Hochsicherheit und Emergency Response.”
The Learning Lab is part of the Fraunhofer Academy, which is the institution for further training of the “Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft” with locations in all parts of Germany. More.
