Death of Professor Clement

Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS) is mourning the passing of Professor Dr. Reiner Clement, Vice President for Regional Development, Transfer and Innovation.

"Our institution is deeply saddened at the loss of a worthy colleague of the university," said University President, Hartmut Ihne. "We are mourning with his family, to which, at this very difficult time, we wish to express our deepest sympathy."

Reiner Clement joined Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University as a professor in the Department of Management Sciences in 1996. From 2001 until 2009 he was Vice Dean of the Department. Since 2009 he had been a member of the Office of the President in his capacity as Vice President for Regional Development, Transfer and Innovation. In this role he played a significant part in the expansion of the transfer activities of the university and was at the heart of many of its regional partnerships.

In 2016 he was one of the founding directors of the Responsibility Forum at H-BRS. Furthermore, for many years he enjoyed success as the Alumni Commissioner at the university and, with other regional universities, instigated the Children's University in the Rhein-Sieg district, as well as various public lecture series.
