Online teaching only until summer

Wednesday 13 January 2021

In view of the development of the Corona pandemic, the Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg is relying on online teaching and examinations exclusively in the coming months.

The President's Office decided in its meeting on 12 January that no face-to-face teaching may take place until the end of the current winter semester (31 March). The general ban on face-to-face teaching has been in place since mid-December and is based on the Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

According to the decision of the President's Office, the examinations at the end of the winter semester will also be held exclusively online - in contrast to the previous summer semester, when students were partially examined face-to-face.

Summer semester 2021 will also be an online semester

Furthermore, the President's Office has set the course for the 2021 summer semester. It has decided that all courses will again be held online. However, if the infection situation in the summer semester permits, additional courses can be held in attendance. Students who do not take part in these additional face-to-face courses must not suffer any disadvantage as a result. The decision on face-to-face examinations in the summer semester is still pending. The President's Office intends to make and announce a decision on this in good time.
