Curriculum Vitae: Prof. Dr. Hartmut Ihne
Among other things, Prof. Dr. Hartmut Ihne studied Philosophy, Political Science, German Studies, Education and Electrical Engineering in Bonn, Bern, Neuchâtel, Siegen and Oxford.
Since 1986, he has been teaching ethics, political philosophy, development policy and political counselling at different universities.
From 1987 to 1994, Prof. Ihne worked as Office Manager and Expert (Referent) on International Cooperation for the Chairman of the Committee on Economic Cooperation and Development in the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany (Bundestag) in Berlin. From 1994 to 1996, he was the Project Manager of a project for minority rights carried out by the Swiss National Fund (SNF) at Bern University; from 1996 to 2004, he was Director (Geschäftsführer) of the Centers for Development Research (ZEF) and European Integration Studies (ZEI) at Bonn University under the management of the International Science Forum Bonn (IBW), and until 2008 he was Director of ZEF Consult at the Center for Development Research at Bonn University. Since November 2008, he has been the President of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
Hartmut Ihne is a member of national and international committees in academia, business and industry, politics and society.
He is the author of many publications, among others, on global governance and political counselling, on religion and globalisation, on information and communication technology and on issues of legal philosophy and ethics.
