Dear Alumni of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences
Our university will turn 20 this year! If you still live in this area, you may already have noticed that the ‘H-BRS Express’ (H-BRS tram) runs on Route No. 66 throughout the whole year – painted in a new H-BRS livery. Or you may have heard about the great anniversary celebrations that will be held on 19 June. This year we are looking back with pride on the contribution that H-BRS has made to the Bonn academic region – in particular, by having educated around 10,000 young people.
You are a part of this success story, too. You would oblige us very much by becoming – or remaining - a member of our network . We are sending you our Alumni Newsletter because we no longer want to leave it to chance that you find out what is happening at your old university, where we are heading and how you can ‘re-connect’ with us. You will be sent a selection of news and activities from all sections of our university two or three times a year. We are looking forward to receiving your feedback on and inspiration for our alumni work.

Alumni activities ’20 Years of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University’
- H-BRS will celebrate its anniversary with lots of activities, culminating in a day of festivities on Friday 19 June. It goes without saying that all alumni are invited to join us on that date. The alumni brunch held on Saturday 20 June will provide a perfect setting for a reunion and networking activities. Please mark these dates in your calendars. You will receive the related invitations in due course. For further information on event dates, please also refer to our Facebook and XING web pages.
- 20 years – 20 alumni: From mid-April you will be introduced to one H-BRS alumna or alumnus per week on our Facebook site.
- International H-BRS alumni are invited to take part in a symposium on intercultural and interdisciplinary challenges in project management. This conference will be supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
- Incidentally, the next alumni round table will, once again, take place in the historic city of Bonn on Saturday 14 March (from 19:00 at the ‘Bonnum’ pub, Paulstraße 5, D-53113 Bonn). Please email your registration to: firstname.lastname@example.org 
2012/13 graduates: You are invited to take part in our alumni survey
What has become of our graduates? What careers are they pursuing now? Did their studies prepare them adequately for work? These are the questions addressed by our alumni survey. Every twelve months all graduates from a particular year will be surveyed: this year’s survey will be sent to those ex-students who obtained their degrees between autumn 2012 and summer 2013. You are kindly requested to support our university by completing the online form. Your feedback will, for example, be used to advance the modular curriculum and to improve our study conditions and exam organisation as well as service and consultation offerings. In our university’s own interest: Alumni details have now been entered into the university’s relevant database
Since the end of 2014, H-BRS has stored its alumni’s contact details in our university’s alumni database. Are you included yet? In December, all members of the previous Alumni Club were requested by email to confirm and update their data in the new database. If you are not sure whether your details have been correctly entered, please do not hesitate to sign in again 
Our university’s online presence in the wake of the re-launch
Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University’s re-designed website has been online since last autumn. The website was revised to make it appeal to young people in particular - on a national and international scale. The main goal was to create a new ‘responsive web design’ including improved features for mobile devices. The re-launch was thus aimed at enhancing the user-friendliness of the university’s online offerings. Following on from the homepage launch, the individual departments’ and institutes’ websites will also be redesigned this year.
