Language concept

Besides academic and intercultural aspects, language proficiency is one of the key elements of the “Chinese-German Double Degree Programme”. To ensure that graduates are proficient in both German and English, the programme follows a well developed language concept.

Learning German step by step

For many Asian students the hurdles to learn German and attend a German study programme seem to be high.

Our language concept is especially developed to lead students step by step to improved German language knowledge and to reduce the fears of learning German. During the first two years of studies lectures in business administration are held in the Chinese language and selected courses are held in English by faculty from Germany. Accompanying German courses support students to gradually improve their German skills. At the end of the 4th semester students have to pass the TestDaF test. Special preparation courses for this exam are offered and during the time of preparation no regular courses will take place.

TestDaF 4x4 or DSH-II level is required to start studies in Germany as courses are mostly held in German. If a student does not pass the TestDaF exam there is still the possibility to attend a German intensive course during the semester and to start regular studies one semester later after passing the DSH-II level.

All in all students receive two years of individual support in small learning groups to reach the required proficiency in the German language.

This will ensure students a good and trouble-free start to their studies in Germany.

Further, in every semester of studies at our university supporting German courses are offered to deepen and secure individual German skills.

English as a continuously applied language

During the first two years of studies students attend some mandatory English courses accompanying the regular lectures, most of them dealing with intercultural aspects.

In the 2nd semester students pass an English language test for which special preparation is offered.

Besides the English language courses, selected academic classes are held in English both at Hunan University and at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg.
