Dear Alumni,

It is often hard to find the peace and time in the busy weeks of December to get in the mood for the Christmas period and the year to come. But fortunately it won’t be long before time starts to move a little more slowly at the end of the year and it is easier to find the time for the things that are really important to us. Christmas is a Christian festival. But the values behind the festival - peace and goodwill to mankind - are universal. All people and religions appreciate them. These are lasting values which are a perfect guideline for our everyday lives, including in the new year with all the opportunities and challenges it brings.

We wish you and your families a wonderful festive period and a good, healthy successful new year in 2017.

Prof. Dr Reiner Clement, Alumni Commissioner for the Office of the President
Barbara Wieners-Horst, Alumni Coordinator

Look back at Africa Conference | Around 300 participants were welcomed by Prof. Jürgen Bode, Vice President for Internationalisation to the third conference on “Universities, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development in Africa“ (10/11 November) at the Sankt Augustin Campus.  As well as the strong content, the conference offered the opportunity for professional and personal networking. Numerous guests from Africa were able to take part thanks to the sponsorship funding to the H-RBS from the "German-African University Partnership Platform for the Development of Entrepreneurs and Small/Medium Enterprises" and external sponsors. - There was no shortage of fun either: On the first evening, DJ Obo from Dusseldorf played some lively African rythms, while on 11/11, the guests experienced the start of the carnival in Bonn.

The H-BRS is now firmly established in Germany when it comes to practical teaching and research and its connections to company networks in Africa.
