Announcement for theses with gender relevance

In 2021, the Equal Opportunity Commission will again award prizes for the best bachelor's thesis and master's thesis with gender relevance by H-BRS students.

In 2021, the Equal Opportunity Commission will award both a prize for the best Bachelor's thesis with gender relevance and a prize for the best Master's thesis with gender relevance. 

Achieving gender equality and improving women's living conditions or promoting their social participation in all areas of life is a goal for society as a whole. The plurality of perspectives is highly suitable for revealing existing deficits and pointing out practice-oriented solutions. Therefore, we welcome applications from all students regardless of their gender and regardless of their field of study.

 

Prerequisite and general conditions:

  • All students whose work was graded "very good" between October 2020 and September 9, 2021 will be considered for selection.
  • A good average grade in the course of study
  • In the case of collaborative work, all authors must meet these first two requirements.
  • There is only one prize for all Bachelor's degree programs, and likewise only one prize for all Master's degree programs.
  • The Equal Opportunity Commission decides on the winner of the prize.
  • In the evaluation, the thesis is considered first and foremost. Criteria are gender relevance, originality, interdisciplinarity and practical relevance.

To be submitted:- Letter of motivation (max. half a page)

  • Score sheet
  • Abstract of the thesis
  • short statement of the first supervisor (max. half a page)
  • complete bachelor or master thesis (optional)
     

The prize will be awarded at the opening of the university's academic year. The deadline for applications is September 8, 2021. The prizes are each endowed with €1,000.
