In the grand final of the Start-up Cup, five founding teams try to convince our external jury of their idea! The team with the best pitch wins €2,500.

Only five minutes to present an idea or product in a compelling way - this is the challenge our five final teams will face on 13 October 2022. At the beginning of the event, we are also looking forward to a keynote by Tim Breker, founder of Vytal.

The five best teams of the Start-up Cup 2022 have already convinced us with their pitch deck, now they also have to impress our external jury in the live pitch. Be there when the finalists present their innovative, exciting and sustainable ideas!

Register now, the event is free of charge.

Start-up-Cup 2022

In the H-BRS internal ideas competition Start-up Cup, we are looking for innovative and convincing business ideas from students, alumni and employees. Ideas that might overcome current societal challenges and shape an innovative future. The most convincing pitches have the chance to win prize money of up to 2,500 euros or special prizes, such as a scholarship for the Start-up Development MBA course or admission to the DIGITALHUB.de accelerator programme.

The finalists

After reviewing all the applications, the five best teams have now been selected! Out of many strong entries submitted by students, alumni and employees, these five ideas convinced our internal jury the most:

  • Detechgene - Dr. Reza Esmaillie (research associate) and Dr. Robin Bayer
  • meinefasssauna.de - Christopher Kossak (alumnus), Fabian Mierau and Sergio C. Moreira
  • Nuntium - David-Lennart Sturz (research associate) and Lea Mürdter (alumna)
  • Sleepy Systems - Jan Geyer (student) and Max Müller (student)
  • toshi - Omiros Grigoreas (alumnus) and Nicole Osmenda

You want to join us for the pitches of the finalists and also for the announcement of the winning teams? Then register for the final via Eventbrite.

How the finale will proceed

The 5 final teams will pitch their business idea to an external jury. This will be followed by a short Q&A session in which the teams will answer the jury's questions. The final evaluation by the external jury will be based on set evaluation criteria, which include the overall impression of the presentation (adherence to the time limit, presentation skills, creativity and teamwork) and the answers to the questions/discussion. After all teams have pitched, there is a deliberation phase by the jury, which then announces the top three places and the awarding of the prize.

Our jury consists of the following people:

  • Joyce Treptow (CENTIM)
  • Prof. Dr. Ralf Meyer (Professor of Business Administration and International Financial Management | representative of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University Society)
