Students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Technical Journalism (EMT) have built ventilation systems and installed them in two Sankt Augustin schools. This should improve the air quality in the classrooms and reduce the risk of infections. On Friday, 2 June, WDR Lokalzeit from Bonn reported on the practical project.

The practical project is part of the research project Klima-Umwelt-Gesundheit (KLUGER) Transfer, in which the university is cooperating with the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry in Mainz. Using the example of global climate and environmental changes, the partners want to help promote the transfer between science and society. To this end, suitable and innovative formats are to be analysed and implemented in order to create a sustainable system of transferring and imparting knowledge into practice.
