Closing Event for “Girls Do It” – A Successful STEM Year Comes to a Close

The “Girls Do It” STEM program for female students came to a successful conclusion with a formal certificate presentation ceremony. The project, carried out in collaboration between the Rhein-Sieg District Education Office and the H-BRS, invited girls throughout the 2025–2026 school year to discover the world of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology and to get excited about a career in STEM today.

As part of the program, the participants enjoyed a year full of variety: During hack days, they worked in teams to develop digital and technical solutions for everyday school life, and workshops hosted by various STEM organizations in the Rhein-Sieg district showed them the exciting career paths available to them in the STEM field.

The closing event itself provided another special highlight: Together, everyone looked back on the past year before heading to the university’s One-Button Studio. In groups, the girls produced short videos explaining why they would recommend the project to others. The results were viewed together—and were a resounding success. Certificates were then ceremoniously presented in front of invited teachers, parents, and project partners. The event concluded with a group lunch in the university cafeteria.

We are very pleased with a successful event and a successful year—and are already looking forward to the next round: The kickoff event for the new school year will take place on September 22. Girls who would like to join us are warmly invited!
