Orange Days 2025: The University Takes a Stand Against Violence Against Women and Girls

From 25 November to 10 December, the Orange Days take place worldwide – a global campaign period raising awareness of violence against women, girls and gender-diverse individuals. Our university is once again taking part with a range of activities and initiatives organised by the Equal Opportunities Office.

Gender-based violence exists in every country and appears in many forms: from degrading remarks and everyday sexism to abuse of power and severe acts of physical violence. To raise awareness and highlight support structures, the Equal Opportunities Office is offering several events over the coming weeks.

Webinars & Training Sessions: Understanding and Addressing Violence at Universities

Throughout the Orange Days, Anne Heinrich rom the Equal Opportunities Office will offer webinars on awareness raising and violence prevention.

The sessions will cover:

  • the different forms of violence,
  • why universities can be environments where violence is more likely to occur,
  • how to support those affected, and
  • the responsibilities of supervisors and leaders.

Both 2-hour in-depth sessions and 30-minute short sessions are available.
No registration is required.

Dates:
27 Nov – 10:00–12:00
28 Nov – 09:00–09:30
01 Dec – 10:00–10:30
02 Dec – 10:00–12:00
03 Dec – 09:00–09:30
04 Dec – 10:00–12:00
08 Dec – 11:00–11:30

The access link to the virtual Webex room will be sent to all university members by E-Mail.

Bread bag campaign: “Violence doesn't fit in our bag”
