Department of Computer Science: Registration for courses

To allow for an optimal planning of lectures, all students of the following programmes need to register in advance for all courses they wish to take during the following semester:
  • Bachelor Cyber Security & Privacy
  • Bachelor Informatik
  • Bachelor Wirtschaftsinformatik
  • Master Autonomous Systems
  • Master Communication Systems and Networks (only for courses taught in Sankt Augustin)
  • Master Cyber Security & Privacy
  • Master Informatik
  • Master Game Technologies
  • Master Visual Computing and Games Technology
  • Master Wirtschaftsinformatik, Nachhaltigkeit und Digitalisierung

Registration for courses in a specific semester takes place during the first examination period of the respective previous semester. Only students in the first semester of a Master's programme have an additional registration period during the first week of lectures in the relevant semester. Registration is only possible online and within the registration period.

Please note that registration for courses is independent of registration for exams. You will have to register for exams in an extra step later on.
First Year Students

If you are enrolled in a bachelor course, you do not have to register for courses of your FIRST semester. You are automatically registered for all compulsory courses of the first semester.

Missed the time slot for registration?

In general, every student of the Department of Computer Science must register for the courses within the above-mentioned period. A late registration is only possible in well-founded exceptional cases via E-Mail. Should this apply to you, please send an e-mail with your matriculation number, name of degree programme, the courses you wish to attend and  the reason for your belated registration to fb02.kursbelegung@h-brs.de.

Please note that some courses might already be overbooked so that there are no more places available.

Overbooked courses

If for some courses there are more registrations than places, places are allocated by drawing lots. Students who do not manage to enter the course are offered other courses within the same module. If students have stated alternative courses, we try to consider this.
