TOFI: Scholarship

As part of the TOFI project, students from all departments of Hochschule Bonn-Rhine-Sieg (H-BRS) can apply for a scholarship. The scholarship supports stays abroad at one of the partner universities participating in the TOFI project.

Then apply for a scholarship with us now and go to one of our participating partner universities in the TOFI project with our funding!

Who can apply?

Regularly enrolled students of H-BRS of all faculties* who wish to study abroad at a partner university of the TOFI project.

*Please contact your department for information on the possible recognition of achievements at the partner university.

What can I use the scholarship for?

The scholarship can support stays abroad in the form of study semesters abroad* (WiSe 23/24 and SoSe 24), internships, summer schools, research projects or final papers at TOFI partner universities.

The scholarship can support stays at IFM (Tanzania), UCC (Ghana), UTFPR (Brazil) and GJU (Jordan). More information on the partner universities in the TOFI project can be found further down the page.

*please be aware of the Mobility Online application deadline and the semester period at the partner university.

What is the funding period?

During the project period (2023--2024) stays of two weeks to six months can be funded.

What does the scholarship include?

Monthly scholarship allowance depending on the destination country*:
Tanzania - 1,225 €
Ghana - 1,275 €
Brazil - 1,225 €
Jordan - 1,150 €
*For shorter stays, the daily rate is used.

Travel allowance depending on the destination country

Tanzania - 1.175 €
Ghana - 1.125 €
Brazil - 1.450
Jordan - 850 €

Scholarship checklist

Requirements

in general:

regular enrolment at H-BRS
for scholarship holders: clarification with scholarship provider regarding permission for a second time-limited scholarship abroad
E-mail with a short application letter with the purpose of the stay abroad to the TOFI contact person at the IO (see below).

additionally for a study abroad semester:

complete application in due time with all document via Mobility Online at one of our TOFI partner universities (Attention: For the summer semester the application deadline is September 1!)

additionally for internships, summer schools, research projects or final papers:

Letter of motivation
Proof of language skills
confirmation from the partner university of individual acceptance

The selection is made by a committee from the International Office. Please note that stays abroad that are not yet established require more time to arrange with the partner university.

Duty to report

After completion of the scholarship, proof of mobility must be submitted within two months. This is a short report on the stay.

Application Deadlines Scholarships 2024

Apply by email to the TOFI contact person janina-domenica.woermann@h-brs.de at least four weeks before the start of the mobility! Please take into account the application deadlines for semesters abroad at partner universities. We will be happy to advise you in more detail in a personal meeting.
