English courses offered by the Department of Engineering and Communication

Pexels_Team-Meeting
The IWK department has a collegial team of over seventy professors and research associates who are committed to providing high-quality education to over 1,500 students. With a comprehensive range of eight degree programmes, our department is at the forefront of research and addresses key areas such as energy efficiency and renewable energy, modelling and simulation, materials and processes, technology communication and acceptance, wireless sensor networks, environmental protection, product development and mechatronic systems.

We encourage international students to take up the opportunity of an internship (practical semester) in one of these research groups. Participating in an internship not only provides hands-on experience, but also opens up opportunities to collaborate on ground-breaking projects. For those seeking a seamless integration of their internship with their academic path, it is possible to have the internship recognised as a thesis. The following courses in English will be offered to our international students in the coming semester:

For those wishing to immerse themselves in the German language, we also offer German courses accompanied by self-study materials in English. Whilst these courses are delivered in German, they are designed to be accessible to non-German speakers. The department recognises the importance of promoting a global perspective and ensuring that language barriers do not hinder academic success. Our lecturers will do everything they can to ensure that our incoming students have a successful semester abroad.
