Wolfgang Heiden, Professor of Hypermedia and Multimedia Systems in the Department of Computer Science, will kick off the lecture series "Our life with AI". The title of his lecture is "One small step ... from science fiction to reality". In it, he draws parallels between science fiction literature and the technical developments of recent decades and shows which fiction has become reality.
Wolfgang Heiden has a background in biology and physical chemistry before entering the world of computer visualization. In addition to his academic work, he writes fantasy novels under the pseudonym "Ingo Pagan".
In the summer semester 2024, artificial intelligence will be the focus of the lecture series on technology and environmental ethics at H-BRS. AI is now part of our lives, is changing our work and is developing rapidly. Nine experts will give lectures on AI in various scientific disciplines and professions and then discuss opportunities, risks and ethical issues with students and the audience.
