Symposium Architecture and Media - Listening instead of Building

The Institute for Media Development and Analysis (IMEA) at H-BRS and the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Architects invite you to the fourth joint "Conference on Architecture and Media" on October 25 in Düsseldorf. This year's event promises insights into architectural communication and a program centered around architectural podcasts.

Podcasts are also experiencing an upswing this year and are also becoming increasingly important in the field of architecture and urban planning. Last year alone, more than 20 million people streamed podcasts on urban planning and architecture topics via various streaming services such as Spotify. Professor Dr. Andreas Schümchen, Director of the IMEA Institute for Research and Development in Media Development and Analysis, will open the event with an exciting themed talk entitled "A Journey through the Podcast Landscape." The day's moderator will be PhD student Patrycja Muc. She specializes in the field of architectural journalism and, at the same time, as a staff member of the IMEA Institute, is significantly involved in the design of the program.

The Architecture and Media Conference opens up a platform for exchanging views on current developments and trends in architectural communication. The panels focus on topics such as the history of building and architecture or architecture and planning offices. Participants can gain valuable insights via talks on urban development and sustainability. Which criteria an architecture podcast has to fulfill and which role the medium podcast plays in architecture communication will be examined in more detail at the symposium.
