Workshops

Welcome to the workshops of the Department of Engineering and Communication.

This is where the work gets done and the chips fall. A technical degree programme would not be practical if it did not also keep an eye on the problems of manual or industrial production.

In our project area with its workshops, machines and test setups, students can lend a hand themselves and test their ideas and products for practical suitability.

Project area

In the project area, which includes a machine hall and a wood workshop, students can manufacture test setups and smaller mechatronic devices required for interdisciplinary projects themselves under supervision.

Diverse machines for processing metal, plastic and wood, as well as several workstations for manual processing are available for this purpose. A welding workstation and an electrical workstation are also available.

Board production

In the board production department, students have the opportunity to have boards manufactured that they need for projects and internships.

Board production is the interface to external board manufacturers. The layout is checked and production is approved if the design rules are adhered to. Several orders are combined to ensure cost-effective production.
