The first visit was to the state-run Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima (UNMSM). There, she was received by representatives of the General Office of Cooperation and Interinstitutional Relations and the Faculty of Geology, Mining, Metallurgy, and Geography. The discussions focused on the circular economy, student mobility, and institutional cooperation. The following individuals participated in the discussions:

  • Dr. Silvia del Pilar Iglesias Leon, General Office of Cooperation and Interinstitutional Relations,
  • Dr. Cayo Victor Leon Fernandez, Director, General Office of Cooperation and Interinstitutional Relations,
  • Dr. Augusto Bravo, Faculty of Geology, Mining, Metallurgy, and Geography, and
  • Dr. Ing. Ciro Bedia Guilen, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Mining, Metallurgy, and Geography.

Potential joint teaching and research projects were discussed, and the prospect of institutionalized cooperation was raised.

Another visit followed to the IDMA (Instituto de Desarrollo y Medio Ambiente), also in Lima. The meeting with Gabriel P. Mejía Duclos, Executive Director of IDMA, focused on the topics of agroecology and agricultural biodiversity in Peru.

The final highlight of the exchange was a visit to the Living Lakes Biodiversity & Climate Project on Lake Titicaca, where Bratzo Klauer, as project manager, led the discussions.
