Digital construction - creating lettering and silhouettes

In this workshop, you will turn your creative ideas into real models: Using a drawing programme, you will design your own lettering or an individual silhouette - just as you want it. A computer-controlled cutter then transfers your digital drawing precisely into a polystyrene model. Step by step, you can watch as your design is transformed into a real object, which you can of course take home with you.

This offer is aimed at girl students and takes place at the Sankt Augustin Campus.

Working and researching in business psychology

Are you interested in what makes people tick, why we say "Coke" instead of "soft drink" or how a football coach can motivate his team? Would you like to know how the perfect workplace of the future should be designed, or how people can be helped to deal with stress (for example during exams) in a more resilient way? Then business psychology is just the thing for you. In this project, you will learn about different areas of work of a business psychologist. We carry out small experiments from business psychology research on the topic of perception and explore your professional interests with the help of psychological test procedures.

This offer is mainly aimed at students and takes place at the Rheinbach Campus.

Explore Business Studies

The Department of Business Studies opens its doors and provides practical insights into the Business Administration and International Business degree programmes. In an interactive programme, participants learn about course content, international opportunities and student life. In direct dialogue with students and staff, they will learn about the diverse career paths opened up by a business degree. The day is rounded off with a creative social media campaign pitch in which participants develop and present their own ideas.

This programme is aimed at pupils and takes place at Campus Sankt Augustin.

1. Faszination Elektromotor

   Elektromotoren begegnen uns nicht nur im Elektrofahrzeug, sie sind aus unserem Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken. 
   In diesem Projekt erfahrt ihr, wie Elektromotoren funktionieren und wo sie überall eingesetzt werden. 
   Ebenfalls werden wir den kleinsten Elektromotor der Welt bauen. 

   Dieses Angebot richtet sich an Schülerinnen ab 11 Jahren und wird am Campus Sankt Augustin angeboten.

    

2. Werkstoffe erkunden - Digital zur Materialwahl

   Materialien umgeben uns täglich und oft nehmen wir sie gar nicht näher wahr. Was muss man beachten, wenn man zum Beispiel eine Brücke baut oder ein Windrad plant? Schnuppert in die Werkstoffkunde rein und lernt Materialien genauer kennen.

3. Löten einer Elektronikschaltung

   In diesem kleinen Lötkurs baust du dein eigenes Simon Says-Spiel! Schritt für Schritt lernst du die Grundlagen des Lötens kennen und hältst am Ende ein funktionierendes Spiel in den Händen. Perfekt für Einsteigerinnen, Bastelfans und alle, die Technik spielerisch entdecken wollen.

4. Dein Start als Online-JournalistIn: Interviews für TikTok, Reels & Shorts

   Mit unserem Mobile Reporting-Equipment lernst Du kurze, knackige Interviews zu führen und zu filmen. Vor der Nutzung von Stativen, Gimbals, Riggs oder GorillaPods steht die Vorbereitung: Wer sind deine Interviewpartner*innen? Was willst du wirklich herausfinden? Welche Fragen bringen die Story in 30–60 Sekunden auf den Punkt?

   Dieses Angebot richtet sich an Schülerinnen von 14 bis 15 Jahren und wird am Campus Sankt Augustin angeboten.

    

5. TV Studio und Schnuppervorlesung

   Wie geht das eigentlich - Filmemachen? Wie werden Filme spannend? Warum fiebern wir mit Held:innen mit? In unserer Schnuppervorlesung „Das Geheimnis des Erzählens“ entdeckt ihr, was Geschichten überhaupt sind und wie sie in Filmen lebendig werden – mit Bildern, Emotionen und ganz viel Fantasie!Lust auf TV-Studio?
   Du willst wissen, was man dort macht und wie der ganze Kosmos „Fernsehproduktion“ funktioniert? Gemeinsam probieren wir coole Effekte mit der Greenscreen aus, und Du kannst Dich probeweise vor ein Mikro stellen – ganz wie eine echte Moderatorin!
   Und wenn Du Lust hast, machst Du am Ende gleich Deinen kleinen Studiokamera-Führerschein.

6. Bridge-Battle: Bauen. Testen. Zerstören. Optimieren.

   Wie stellen Ingenieurinnen sicher, dass riesige Brücken tonnenschwere Lasten tragen? Beim Bridge-Battle erlebst du echten Maschinenbau: Von der ersten Idee über die PC-Simulation deines „Digitalen Zwillings“ bis zum Bau der perfekten Brücke 2.0. Wer knackt den Stabilitäts-Rekord?

7. Und es werde Strom! – Solarenergie im Labor

   Warum liefert eine Solarzelle im Dunkeln keinen Strom? In einer Kurzvorlesung klären wir Aufbau und Funktionsprinzip von Solarzellen, danach messen wir im Labor die Stromabgabe bei variierender Bestrahlungsstärke.

   Dieses Angebot richtet sich an Schülerinnen von 15 bis 17 Jahren und wird am Campus Sankt Augustin angeboten.

Light from the sun - energy that never sleeps

We solder a solar-powered night light: a solar cell is used to charge a battery during the day, which powers an LED at night to light up the dark hours.

This programme is aimed at pupils from Year 7 and takes place at Campus Rheinbach.

Detectives in the lab - separating mixtures, identifying scents

Join us on a search for clues: We analyse traces on a suspicious letter and then check whether a perfume is genuine or tampered with. In the end, we link everything together to solve the case. Experience a chemical laboratory from the inside and get a taste of the work of an analyst!

Always on the smallest - the chemistry of nanoparticles

Dive into the world of nanoparticles! You will learn how tiny magnetic particles can be controlled and why gold nanoparticles make corona tests possible. You'll even produce the particles yourself in the lab.

A day as a structural biologist - grow protein crystals and experience molecules in 3D

Grow real protein crystals in the lab, work with pipettes and immerse yourself in the 3D world of molecules with VR. Experience a day as a structural biologist - hands-on and interactive.
