The dining hall in Sankt Augustin as a place to study: the room with its many tables is now available to students from Monday to Friday. It is open until 8 p.m. after the canteen closes. The new regulation applies without restriction, unless special events are taking place in the canteen.

The opening of the dining hall as an additional retreat space is the result of a request from the student body. In the semester discussion, the students emphasised the need for additional study rooms. The Presidential Board supported this request and now Vice President Peter Muck and Head of Buildings Ute Schmitz have been able to announce that the project has been finalised: The university and Studierendenwerk have agreed on the extended opening hours

On the Rheinbach campus, the C building with the library is open, so there is access to the downstairs cafeteria on the ground floor during all opening hours.
