Record attendance at the 2023 Company Day of Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg

"The Company Day is a driving force for the regional labour market: many students and young professionals lay the foundations for their professional careers there and the companies make contact with exceptionally well-trained young talent. In this way, the Company Day also demonstrates the university's ties with the regional economy," says University President Hartmut Ihne.

Platform for exchange and networking

Professor Michaela Wirtz, Vice President of Transfer, Innovation and Sustainability at H-BRS, emphasised the importance of the Company Day for networking in the region: "The Company Day is a valuable exchange, networking and recruiting platform for students and graduates of all disciplines and the participating companies from various branches. The format is constantly evolving. Students and companies are placing more and more emphasis on the topic of sustainability, which is also evident at the Company Day."

Around 500 jobs on offer

The companies had a total of around 500 positions on offer, including internships, practical semesters and final theses, entry opportunities as working students and trainees or direct entry. There were also free additional offers such as application photos by professional photographers, CV checks, coaching, interview training and presentations on both days of the fair. The target group are students, career starters and young professionals. In previous years, many students have found an employer at the fair - this year, some of them stood on the other side of the fair stands and recruited young talent for their company at their old university.

University represented as an exhibitor for the first time

The university itself was also represented as an exhibitor for the first time. "We want to show what an innovative employer H-BRS is. We offer diverse and attractive career opportunities in a dynamic and inspiring environment. These range from apprenticeships and employment in technical and commercial professions to employment in science and teaching, the opportunity to do a doctorate and appointment to a professorship," says Elke Kitzelmann, the new head of the administrative unit Human Resources.
