On 28 January, eight members of various departments and sections of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences founded the “H-BRS Institute for International Studies”, aimed at devising and implementing application-oriented academic, internationally oriented education and further education programmes in collaboration with the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.

The Institute is a non-profit-making academic institution under private law in the legal form of a registered association. Professors Jürgen Bode, Klaus Deimel and Andreas Wiesehahn are members of the Board, with Professor Bode acting as Chair.

“I am very pleased to announce that a new platform is now available to our entire University, which gives Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University an important edge in international educational competition”, Bode (centre of picture) reported after the foundation meeting. The first project run be the Institute includes the 2+2 programme in Business Administration, carried out in collaboration with Hunan University, China. Additional programmes and projects offered by all sections of the University may be implemented via the Institute.

There are plans to have the Institute, which is still privately run at present, recognised as a part of the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences.
