Night of Technology 2025 at H-BRS

During the Night of Technology, the Department of Computer Science, the Department of Engineering and Communication and research institutes will be opening their doors at the Sankt Augustin Campus. All stations are accessible free of charge and without prior application from 6 p.m. to midnight.

• In the Gamestudio the Gamedev team will be presenting computer games they have developed themselves and you can play them (room C 058).
• The Institute for Visual Computing will be showcasing current research. The high-resolution display wall HORNET is in action (room C 061).
• In the Robotic Lab, robots demonstrate what they can do, whether as a useful assistant in everyday life or for industrial tasks (room C 069).

• Project Computational Chemistry from the Department of Computer Science: Here, molecules can be viewed through VR glasses (Hochschulstraße, in English).

• Guests can experience how a biometric check works at an airport gate in the test rooms of the Institute for Security Research and the Biometrics Evaluation Centre. Biometric systems will also be on display there (room H 114), as will a micro-optics printer (room H 104).
• In the Audio and Video Studio of the Department of Engineering and Communication, guests can take a camera driving licence every half hour (room B 124).
• "Hands-on Industry 4.0" is the motto of the Smart Factory (room B 008).
• The Materials Laboratory shows current materials research projects and demonstrates, among other things, how medieval swords were made (room B 073).
• Making Dubai chocolate (room A 037).
• Demonstration by the BRS motorsport team (car park).

The "Night of Technology" series of events initiated by VDI and VDE has the motto "See, understand and experience technology". It will take place on 26 September 2025 at various locations in the Bonn/Rhine-Sieg region.
