Pitch perfect: Digital Hub Venture Capitalist shares start-up insights with students

The guest speaker, Malte Gooß, shared valuable insights into the world of start-up investment and introduced the wide range of support services the Digital Hub offers to emerging entrepreneurs. This inspiring and informative talk marks an important step in helping students bridge the gap between academic simulation and entrepreneurial reality.
The visit came on the heels of last week’s Start-up Trade Fair, where students showcased their sustainable simulated ventures to fellow students, staff, and invited guests. The fair was a great success, with impressive levels of creativity, innovation, and professionalism on display. Many participants received enthusiastic feedback, sparking real interest in the potential of their ideas. Building on the momentum of the trade fair, the guest speaker’s visit offered students timely, practical advice on how to refine their business concepts and prepare for the final stage of the course: delivering a professional investor pitch. The talk focused on what makes a pitch stand out to investors such as market potential, scalability, team strength, and innovation.
The session sparked new ideas and deeper reflection among students, who were encouraged to think more strategically about investor readiness and startup viability. It also inspired many to consider taking their ideas beyond the classroom. “Hearing directly from someone who funds and supports early-stage companies gave our students a fresh and realistic view of what it takes to attract investment,” said Eileen Küpper. “It might even encourage some to take the next step and turn their simulation projects into real-world ventures.”
Due to the success and positive response, the Digital Hub Venture Capitalist will return on 16th June to speak with Business Psychology students in the Business English course, continuing to support and inspire the next wave of potential entrepreneurs.
