Broaden your horizons, build international friendships, and ease into university life – the Study Buddy Program at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences brings students together and supports international first-year students as they settle into their studies and everyday life.

Get involved – become a Study Buddy

Starting your studies in a new country can be exciting but also challenging. In our Study Buddy Programme, local students support international students as they settle in, navigate around campus, and feel at home more quickly.

As a study buddy, you will help with everyday matters, finding accommodation, setting up a bank account, registering for classes and getting to know the best cafés, cinemas, and spots in the area. It’s not all about paperwork, it’s about sharing experiences, having fun, and maybe even building a lasting friendship.

Before you begin, you will take part in a short preparatory seminar that covers all your responsibilities and gives you useful tips for your role. You will support international students for one semester. At the end, you will receive a Certificate of International Involvement as official recognition for your engagement; a great addition to your CV and future applications.

Sounds good? Join us and become part of a global network at our university! Simply sign up using the link below.

Get your study buddy!

When starting your studies as an international student, a new country can feel exciting; and a little overwhelming at first.

To make your start at our university as smooth as possible, we offer the Study Buddy Programme: a great opportunity to connect with local students who will help you settle in, navigate life in Germany, and feel at home from the very beginning.

Once you have received your admission, you can sign up for the programme and will be matched with your personal study buddy.

Your study buddy can support you with practical matters such as finding accommodation, arranging health insurance, opening a bank account, or dealing with local authorities. They will also show you around the city and introduce you to everyday student life. But it’s not just about practical help; you can also spend time together, explore local cafés, go to the cinema, or take trips around the region. Who knows, you might even make a lifelong friend!

If you would like to have a study buddy by your side, simply register using the link below.
