The Enexio Water Technologies GmbH was established in 2016 and is part of the Enexio GmbH which is existing since 1988. Dr. Nina Woicke, who leads the R&D department of the Enexio Water Technologies GmbH in Aachen/Wettringen, introduced the business domains of the corporation. Besides the areas of air moistening, smell elimination, material exchange as well as the wastewater and drinking water technologies, the focus of the presentation laid on the area of cooling technology. This area accomplishes 45% of the sales volume of the enterprise.

Dr. Nina Woicke explained that the cooling technology operates according to the principle of air moistening which is often installed in cooling towers. For the development of the high performance PP films, the expansion elements, it is important to understand the dependency of the three factors water quality, performance and air resistance.

Besides the high performance PP fills, the Enexio Water Technologies GmbH produces trickle grid fills that combine the positive effects of the PP cooling fills and the common splash grids. While having 25% more performance that splash grids, the trickle grids are also usable with poor water qualities.

With the development of a biodegradable trickle grid fill on the basis of potato starch, the Enexio Water Technologies GmbH is nominated for the Greentec-Award 2018.

Right now, the corporation is also doing a research project in collaboration with the RWTH Aachen where they want to drive the boarders of CFD simulation forward and reproduce the interaction of structure, water and air with OpenFOAM.
