Admission and application for the Master's programme Innovation and Information Management

Admission requirements

The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree programme Innovation and Information Management is a first professionally qualifying degree in business administration with at least 210 credit points and a minimum grade of 2.5. If the first professionally qualifying university degree comprises fewer than 210 credit points, the "Practical Term" module must be completed.

Admission to the Master's degree programme is also open to those who can provide evidence of a professionally qualifying degree in Business Information Systems with 210 credit points and a proportion of business modules of at least 40%. Furthermore, a total of at least 20 ECTS credits must have been earned in a previous degree programme in Business Information Systems for the Master's degree programme Innovation and Information Management.

German language skills

If you do not have a German-language secondary school or university degree, the German language skills required for the degree programme must be demonstrated by the DSH 3 (German Language Test for Admission to Higher Education for Foreign Applicants) or the TestDaF (Test for German as a Foreign Language) at level TDN 5 in all four examination areas.
 

English language skills

We also require English language skills at level B2. You can prove your English language skills either by the result of an official English test or by a confirmation from your university if the language of instruction of your Bachelor's degree was English or by a university entrance qualification (secondary school certificate), provided that this certificate explicitly shows English language skills at level B2.

 

Application procedure

An application for the Master's degree programme Innovation and Information Management is only possible for the summer semester. The application period is from 15 November to 15 March each year.

To apply for the summer semester, the first professionally qualifying university degree must have been completed by the end of the previous winter semester at the latest.

To apply for the summer semester, the first professionally qualifying university degree with the final average grade must be submitted by 31 March at the latest.

If the requirements for the Master's degree programme are met, admission can be granted and enrolment can be carried out.

 

Documents for the application

Before you start entering data in the online application form, please check that you have all the documents you need for your application and that you need to upload them in the online application:

  • University degree certificate including transcript of grades (with German or English translation for foreign certificates);
  • transcript of records without university degree certificate, if the university degree is not yet available but will be obtained in this winter semester;
  • the APS certificate if you obtained your university degree in China or Vietnam;
  • Proof of sufficient German language skills (TestDaF 5,5,5,5 or DSH 3) if you obtained your degree abroad;
  • Proof of sufficient knowledge of English at level B2.

Please note the application and enrolment deadlines. Applications received after the deadline or incomplete applications can no longer be considered!
