Admission requirements
Admission requirements for the Master's degree programme are
- a first professionally qualifying university degree. The university degree must be in a degree programme
- of political science,
- of sociology
- of economics,
- law,
- administrative science,
- health sciences,
- psychology,
- philosophy or
- an interdisciplinary degree programme such as the Bachelor's degree programme in Sustainable Social Policy or a similar degree programme in the field of social sciences
have been acquired.
The content of the Bachelor's degree programme must comprise a total of at least 20 ECTS from one or more of the subject areas of politics, sociology, economics, communication and 10 ECTS from the area of empirical methods.
- The first degree programme must have earned at least 210 credit points in accordance with the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
The grade of the first degree must be at least 2.5.
Applicants who do not have the required 210 credit points (7 semesters) but 180 credit points (6 semesters) due to their completed Bachelor's degree programme can make up or replace the missing 30 credit points by completing 5 months of full-time professional practice or a corresponding full-time equivalent. The prerequisite is proof of at least 5 months of full-time equivalent work experience after obtaining the first professionally qualifying university degree. The activity must be categorised as an activity (including unpaid internships and/or volunteer work) in an area of social, environmental or municipal policy that is appropriate to the first professionally qualifying university degree. In cases of doubt, the examination board will decide on recognition.
Application deadlines
The Master's degree programme Public Policy & Transformation: Climate-Social-Policy can only be started once a year in the summer semester. You can apply from 15 November to 15 March to start your studies in the summer semester.
