Lecture Series: Media Makers 2026/27

The world of work in the media sector is changing rapidly as a result of the digital transformation: whether it be traditional business models, media production or the skills required of employees – all of these are being put to the test in the digital age. Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences has invited media professionals to a public lecture series, where they will present their respective fields of work and describe the challenges and changes that digitisation is bringing to their professions.

The series will take place from 14 October 2026 to 14 January 2027 in Sankt Augustin, in Lecture Theatre 7. Every Wednesday from 3.15 pm to 4.45 pm, the department of Engineering and Communication will welcome a guest speaker from the media sector. They will be visiting the H-BRS at the invitation of Dr Tanja Köhler, Professor of Digital Journalism and Audiovisual Media. In the lecture series ‘Die Medienmacher:innen’, these industry professionals will present a different field of work from an insider’s perspective each week, whilst also discussing career prospects for university graduates.

The lecture series is not only intended for students: it is of interest to anyone wishing to find out more about careers in the media and how they are being transformed by digitisation.
