On the future of social protection systems: New reference book "Global Social Protection" published
The new book "Global Social Protection" offers an innovative, multidisciplinary view of social protection systems. Authors specialising in economics, law, philosophy, political science and sociology show how crucial institutional structures are for an effective social protection system and which factors promote or hinder reforms.
A particular focus is placed on low- and middle-income countries: The book examines how social protection can combat poverty and exclusion, what hurdles exist and why a new framework is needed to strengthen global human rights. The contributions combine theoretical approaches with empirical findings and shed light on ethical issues and international legal standards.
"Global Social Protection" is aimed at students and researchers of development and social policy as well as policy makers and practitioners working in development cooperation.
