Get to know entrepreneurship as an alternative path to your academic career. Reflect on your own failure and learning journey and think about how to consolidate and develop your personal entrepreneurial skill set. You will learn about user groups and the network of stakeholders that surround you and your research. Why could they benefit from your research? Brainstorm potential use cases and help each other to take your ideas to the next level. Develop your pitch storyline and receive feedback from our experts and an interdisciplinary team of peers.

Workshop goals

Get to know the concept of entrepreneurship, reflect on your own potential and exchange with entrepreneurs
Develop or extend potential use cases based on your research & network
Build your own pitch with a convincing storyline and practise your presentation skills

How to apply

Admission is free and no previous knowledge is required. The workshop is open to all PhDs, Postdocs and advanced master’s students of all disciplines, as well as early-career researchers and academic staff.

No prior knowledge or experience in the areas of entrepreneurship, startups or other business ventures is necessary. A genuine interest in these topics is sufficient!

Falling Walls Foundation and H-BRS

Falling Walls is the unique global hub connecting science, business, and society. The Young Entrepreneurs in Science (YES) initiative aims to inspire doctoral students and postdocs to think and act entrepreneurially by offering further education. Together, we focus on introducing scientists to the topic of entrepreneurship.
The Start-up-Manufaktur hosts YES workshops several times a year.
