Kick-off Forum on Sustainability: University Development Plan 4

How do we continue to drive change towards social responsibility and sustainability at our university as part of the University Development Plan? This question was the focus of the Sustainability Kick-off Forum on 3 September 2026. Following a welcome address by President Marion Halfmann, the presidential commissioner for sustainability, Anna-Lena Menn, introduced the topic. The meeting focused on our dedicated colleagues and their initiatives – they are the driving forces and implementers who put sustainability into practice.

Katja Bender, Dirk Reith, Ingo Groß, Simon Roth, Sascha Alda, Roland Wünsch, Tanja Köhler and Christian Rexroth then provided important insights and contributions. After a short lunch break, groups worked on implementing strategic topics at the Speed-World-Café. We are now setting about forming a Sustainability Team and drawing up an SDG (Sustainable Development Goals) checklist for research activities at our university . A big thank you goes to everyone involved for the open discussion and their commitment. We look forward to continuing to work together and implementing these initiatives at the university.
