Successful International Day at the Sankt Augustin campus
On 29 October 2025, Hochschulstraße on the Sankt Augustin campus was transformed into a meeting place for international encounters. The International Office at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences once again hosted International Day this year to provide information about its services and the wide range of opportunities available for semesters and internships abroad.

Successful start to the semester at Cybercampus NRW: record numbers in the Cyber Security & Privacy degree programmes at H-BRS
The success of Cybercampus NRW is particularly evident this year in the strong interest in the Cyber Security & Privacy degree programmes at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences (H-BRS). A total of 163 students have enrolled in the bachelor’s programme for the 2025/2026 winter semester. Expectations have also been significantly exceeded in the master’s programme: 23 students are beginning their studies in Sankt Augustin, which underlines the continuing high attractiveness of the programme.

10 Jahre Forum Sozialversicherungswissenschaft – Tradition trifft Zukunft
Am 22. Oktober 2025 feierte das Forum Sozialversicherungswissenschaft e.V. an der Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg, Campus Hennef, sein zehnjähriges Bestehen. Die Jubiläumsveranstaltung stand unter dem Motto „Tradition und Zukunft des Systems sozialer Sicherung“ und zog über 130 Studierende sowie zahlreiche Gäste aus Wissenschaft, Verwaltung und Praxis an.

Fighting Weak Passwords with Stories: Research Project Raises Cybersecurity Awareness
How can IT security be told in an exciting way? Professor Dr Wolfgang Heiden from the Institute of Visual Computing shows that education can also be entertaining. In his research project, he combines stories, music and computer science to sensitise older people to the safe use of digital technologies.
