Internationalization is one of the strategic priorities of H-BRS, which maintains partnerships with institutions worldwide. UCC has been a partner institution since 2011 and was designated a strategic partner in 2024.

The delegation was warmly received by the Registrar of UCC, Mr. Gideon Enoch Abbeyquaye, and was given a comprehensive campus tour, offering valuable insight into the university’s facilities and infrastructure. Staff from the H-BRS International Office facilitated a workshop on internationalization, sharing best practices and providing an opportunity for both institutions to exchange experiences, address common challenges, and discuss future strategies.

In a subsequent meeting with UCC leadership, the parties discussed the strategic partnership and outlined plans for future collaboration. The discussions also included new funding opportunities secured by H-BRS through the DAAD HAW.International program.

Delegation members visited the UCC German Club and several language departments, and met with colleagues in comparable roles for job shadowing, fostering professional exchange and mutual understanding. They also had the opportunity to meet the three H-BRS students currently completing their exchange semester at UCC.

UCC extended generous hospitality throughout the visit, strengthening the partnership through deeper mutual understanding and the identification of new opportunities for cooperation. During their stay in Cape Coast, the delegation also visited the historic Elmina Castle, gaining insight into Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and the profound history of the transatlantic slave trade.

The delegation concluded the visit by reaffirming the mutual commitment of both institutions to continued collaboration. H-BRS and UCC share a strong vision for academic excellence and innovation, and both look forward to further developing and expanding their partnership in the years ahead.
