Artificial intelligence (AI) is a key challenge for us all. It is changing work processes, decision-making structures and care models - especially in socially sensitive areas such as social work, healthcare, medicine and nursing. This was also evident at the innovation meeting "Re-think AI: Rethinking AI - socially - innovatively - responsibly" at Hochschule Bonn-Rhein-Sieg (H-BRS), which was much more than a traditional AI event.

At the meeting, the speakers provided many different perspectives on the topic and opened up the discussion. In a keynote speech, Monika Löber, Deputy Managing Director of KI NRW, spoke about "Artificial intelligence in NRW: How innovation and responsibility are reconciled".

On the part of H-BRS, Vice President International Affairs and Digital Transformation, Professor Teena Chakkalayil Hassan, and Derya Gür-Şeker, who holds a professorship in Communication and Society, were in charge of the event. They entered into a dialogue entitled "Technology meets society: two perspectives on AI". The event was organised by the Centre for Science and Technology Transfer (ZWT).

With over 100 participants from business, healthcare, social economy, science, administration and civil society, it became clear that the crucial question is not whether we use AI. But how.
