Artificial intelligence at the H-BRS
Artificial intelligence (AI): Offers and information for employees and students
Services and information for all university members
KI:connect@H-BRS
KI:connect.nrw is a state-wide, data protection-compliant platform that gives university members access to modern AI tools. Whether developing ideas, writing texts, structuring or visualising: KI:connect makes entering the world of generative artificial intelligence easy, secure and practical. You can log in using the "Förderierte Anmeldung" and your MIA access data.
Academic Cloud of the GWDG
The H-BRS offers students and staff access to the Academic Cloud of the GWDG (Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen). In addition to tools for collaborative work and data management, the Academic Cloud offers AI applications. In addition to chatbots, VoiceAI, for example, an AI application for transcribing audio and video files, is also available. Login is via the "Förderierte Anmeldung" and with the MIA access data.
Online training course on the basics of artificial intelligence
The reflective and competent use of AI tools is increasingly becoming a key qualification. The training course organised by the Legal and Compliance department provides practical content, raises awareness of ethical and legal issues and helps to use AI tools sensibly and responsibly. It is not necessary to complete the course in one go, as it has a modular structure.
Checklist AI - For the legally compliant use of generative AI systems
The checklist on DOs and DON'Ts from the Legal and Compliance Unit provides an overview of the legal requirements and risks involved in the use of AI systems. It is intended to help members of the university to use AI in an ethical and legally compliant manner, to recognise potential risks and to make conscious decisions when dealing with AI-supported applications.

AI and scientific work: Rules and help for students
What is artificial intelligence, how can I use it in my studies and what rules are there for its use in academic work? The University and District Library has compiled information for students and created an FAQ.
Guideline for safeguarding good scientific practice at H-BRS
Scientific activity requires responsibility for the knowledge gained. This responsibility is borne by the authors of scientific work. The technical development of the possibilities of artificial intelligence as an aid in the scientific knowledge process is welcomed. The guidelines for ensuring good scientific practice at Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences regulate what students must observe when conducting scientific work. The guideline is based on the Guidelines for Safeguarding Good Scientific Practice of the German Research Foundation (DFG). In 2024, the Senate of H-BRS expanded these guidelines to include an AI resolution that specifically addresses the use of artificial intelligence in academic work.
