Scholarship offer of the Ließem-Foundation

In 2012, a further line of funding was added to the support offered to students by the university through the Education Fund. As part of the initiative for more equal opportunities in academic education, the Study Foundation provides up to ten scholarships for students in financial need.

In addition, the university has gained a new partner for the education fund in the form of the private Ließem Foundation, which adds further scholarships to the university's own support program for students in need. Since the winter semester 2015/2016, the Ließem Foundation has been awarding 20 scholarships of €300 per month to students at the university who are particularly worthy of support as part of the Deutschlandstipendium. In accordance with the purpose of the foundation, these scholarships are to be awarded to students who, after successfully completing the application process for the German Scholarship, fulfill the following requirements in addition to outstanding academic performance:

  • Potential applicants must have registered their primary residence in the greater Bonn area (the city of Bonn and the Rhein-Sieg district) for at least five years.
  • Ließem scholarships are only awarded to applicants who receive social assistance to finance their studies or who receive benefits under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) or would be entitled to such benefits.
  • The Ließem Foundation supports students up to the age of 27.

The scholarships of the Ließem Foundation are formally linked to the Deutschlandstipendium. The selection process for the Ließem scholarships is therefore integrated into the application process for the Deutschlandstipendium. The guidelines for the implementation of the Deutschlandstipendium at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences apply.

The university management is very pleased about this generous commitment of the Ließem Foundation, which ideally complements the initiative for more equal opportunities in academic education.

Further information on the application process can be found on the Deutschlandstipendium German scholarship pages.
