Future Skills Electives Catalogue

Supplement your degree programme with key Future Skills. In the Future Skills Electives Catalogue, you will find interdisciplinary courses that address digital, transformative and personal skills and can be integrated into your degree programme, depending on your course of study. Choose courses that complement your subject area, open up new perspectives and prepare you for future professional and social challenges.

New this semester:

The courses listed in the elective catalogue have been agreed with the examination boards of the respective subject areas, so that it is clear which courses each student can take to earn ECTS credits in each elective area. For some degree programmes, this coordination is still ongoing. The results will be added at a later date. Of course, it remains the policy that courses from the elective catalogue can always be taken as optional course work.

Skill Werkstatt

Would you like to develop not only academically, but also personally and professionally during your studies?
The Future Skills Electives Catalogue offers you the opportunity to choose specific courses
that go beyond your subject studies and address key future skills.

In the electives catalogue, you will find courses from various departments and institutions at H-BRS, all of which are related to future skills. The courses are open to students of all bachelor's degree programmes and can be taken as part of the existing electives options, depending on the degree programme.

The courses listed in the electives catalogue can be assigned to the three competence areas of the H-BRS Future Skills Competence Model:

  • Digital Skills
  • Transformative Skills
  • Classic key qualifications

A course can contribute to one or more areas of competence.

Whether AI competence, sustainability, intercultural communication, scientific work or presentation techniques – the electives catalogue provides transparency about which interdisciplinary skills are covered in which courses.

This allows you to actively shape your studies and set specific priorities that will strengthen you for your future professional and personal path.

Students who wish to explore current social, environmental and digital transformation processes in greater depth, with a practical and application-oriented focus, can enrol in the Centre for Ethics and Responsibility’s multi-semester supplementary programme, “Study programme Responsibility”, and complete it with a certificate in sustainability.
