Dates

First-year students’ welcome event on 14 September 2026

On 14 September 2026 we’ll be welcoming you as first semester students to the department! At 9.00 am, there’ll be a central welcome event for ALL Bachelor’s degree programmes in the Audimax (Lecture Theatre 1). Afterwards, separate information sessions for all degree programmes will begin, as well as the preparatory courses in mathematics.

Preliminary courses and information sessions at the start of the academic year

In calendar weeks 38 & 39 (14 September – 25 September 2026), preparatory courses in mathematics (and, depending on the degree programme, other subjects) will take place for all degree programmes. There will also be information sessions on the structure of the first semester and the services offered by the library. The student council of the IWK department will also be welcoming our new first semester students.
The exact timetable for the preparatory courses will be published at short notice during the information sessions and on LEA (see above). You should expect preparatory courses or information sessions to be held at the university almost daily during the period mentioned above.
Attendance at the information and preparatory course sessions is strongly recommended. However, all information will also be made available via LEA. NO registration is required for the information sessions and preparatory courses.
